Kidnapped boy recovered in 12 hours in Auriya

Faced by financial constraints, a man kidnapped his cousin’s five-year-old son in Auraiya district. The police rescued the child within 12 hours on Thursday.

Abhinay Dubey, 5, went missing on Wednesday noon while playing outside his house, in Kanarpur village, in Dibiyapur, Auraiya.
By nightfall, the boy’s father, Alok Dubey, received a ransom call.
ADG, Kanpur zone, Alok Singh, who supervised the rescue operation with IG range Prashant Kumar, said that the family got three calls for ransom from different numbers, each of which was switched off subsequently.
The caller asked the family for a ransom amount of ₹20 lakh in Chibramau, Kannauj. When the call was traced it emerged that it was made from Kasgunj in Etah.
Using the location obtained, the police team reached Kasgunj and raided the house of one Rahul where it rescued Abhinay. Police arrested two persons Kanhaiya and a woman, Sampa.
A trap was also laid in Chibramau where the main kidnapper got involved in an encounter with the police when he came to pick the ransom amount and was injured in the shootout. The kidnapper was identified as Vishal Dubey, son of Raghvendra, elder brother of Alok Dubey.
