The budget release comes when preparations for Mahakumbh-2025 are on the top priority list of the state government and the government allocated ₹2500 crore for this mission in its annual budget for 2023-24 just in February 2023.

The development projects finalised as part of the preparations for the mega religious fair of Mahakumbh 2025 will finally now get wings.

This month the project tenders will be taken out and work will be started in April, they added.

The budget release comes when preparations for Mahakumbh-2025 are on the top priority list of the state government and the government allocated 2500 crore for this mission in its annual budget for 2023-24 just in February 2023.

As part of the preparations for this once-in-12-years religious fair, a budget of more than 2500 crore has been agreed upon for 86 projects in the two meetings of the state-level Apex Committee chaired by the chief secretary of the state Durga Shanker Mishra.

In the second meeting of the Apex Committee held in Prayagraj in the last week of February 2023, chief secretary Durga Shanker Mishra had directed to issue the government orders for all the approved projects by March 15, but it took time for the departments to finalise the proposals and it is only now that the budget has been released for the first time, albeit for just 10 projects.

ADM (Kumbh) Vivek Chaturvedi confirmed that the first instalment of more than 27.87 crore has been released.
