A missile was misfired during a firing exercise by the army at the Pokhran field firing range (PFFR) in Jaisalmer, people familiar with the matter.

No loss of life or damage to property was reported.

“A case of missile misfire was reported of a unit undertaking its annual field firing at PFFR today,” defence spokesperson Amitabh Sharma said

“Missile detonated safely in flight, however, the debris fell into the adjoining fields,” he added.
