Prayagraj: Tractor driver looted, stabbed to death

A 28-year-old tractor driver was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Manda area of trans-Yamuna region of the district late Thursday night. The miscreants fled with cash worth around ₹13,500. A hunt has been launched for the miscreants, police said.
According to reports, a resident of Bhasora Narottam village under Manda police station of trans-Yamuna area, Anil Kumar Tiwari was a tractor driver. On Thursday, Anil had gone to a village in neighbouring Mirzapur district to deliver bricks.
He was returning home late Thursday night along with one Ramchandra Bind of the same village who was on his own tractor trolley when the incident took place. They had reached the Manda-Baraundha Road at around 10pm when unidentified miscreants waylaid the tractor of Anil.
They stabbed Anil multiple times with sharp-edged weapon and looted cash ₹13,500 from him. Ramchandra Bind spotted seriously injured Anil and immediately alerted the Manda police. Anil was rushed to the community health centre at Manda but was declared brought dead.
On complaint of Anil’s brother Rakesh, police registered an FIR against unidentified miscreants. SHO of Manda police station Arun Kumar said efforts were underway to identify and arrest the miscreants.

Shocking scenes were witnessed in Delhi when two people- a teenager and a man- were injured after getting attacked by a group of people in the Wazirabad area on Thursday night, police said on Friday. CCTV footage of the attack - shared by news agency ANI - showed the group of around 10 people attacking Jatin, aged 17, and Ajay, aged 42. Jatin and Ajay were injured in the attack, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Sagar Singh Kalsi said.

Patrolman spots fallen boulder on tracks, stops train on Mumbai-Pune rail route
An alert patrolman averted an accident by stopping a locomotive along the Mumbai-Pune rail route as it was approaching a fallen boulder on the track in the early hours of Friday. Rail services on the route that had to be temporarily halted but it was restored by 8:15am on Friday morning. Patrolman Motiram Lodhi who was on duty at that time, immediately stopped the approaching locomotive and informed his seniors about the incident.

Ballari woman sends 900 Rakhis to Indian army on Raksha Bandhan : report
A 23-year-old woman from Karnataka's Ballari named Vidyasri B has sent 900 rakhis to army personnel stationed at external borders on Raksha Bandhan, The Times of India reported. Vidya reportedly sent these rakhis through an army organisation in Bengaluru, Yodha Namana. Out of 900 rakhis, 300 were sent to soldiers at the Wagah border, 300 to soldiers at the Assam border and 300 to the Border Security Force personnel in Haryana, said the report.

Saran hooch tragedy: Five persons die, four hospitalised in Bihar district
In a tragic incident, at least five persons died while four others were hospitalised after consuming spurious liquor in Bihar's Saran district on Friday. Mohammad Alauddin Khan (resident of Audha village), Kameshwar Mahto alias Loha, Ramjeevan alias Rajendra Ram, Rohit Singh and Papu Singh (Bhuwalpur village) died after consuming the poisonous liquor. Four others namely—Ramnath Mahto, Lalbabu Shah, Shankar Rai and Hira Rai are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
