Police said the incident took place at about 6pm on November 23, and the suspects are yet to be arrested.

The victim, Ananay Batra (32), moved his car from the spot after the suspects manhandled him, police said.

Investigators said that Batra tried to avoid the confrontation and went back to the clinic. However, the suspect threatened to thrash him again and called his associates.

Sensing trouble, Batra called the police control room which sent an emergency response vehicle but by the time police reached the spot, the three suspects assaulted Batra again and fled from the spot.

A senior police officer said that the house owner picked a steel water bottle and slammed it on Batra’s face, resulting in a deep cut above one of his eyes and cheek.

“The suspects assaulted Batra for almost 10-15 minutes. The doctor and clinic staff tried to intervene but they were overpowered,” the police officer said.

Police said that Batra registered a complaint on Friday and an FIR was registered against the suspects under Section 34 (common intention), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sector 40 police station.

Batra alleged in the FIR that the clinic staff called his family, who rushed him to a hospital in Sector 44.

Subhash Boken, public relation officer of Gurugram police, said investigation is underway and the suspects will be nabbed at the earliest.

Batra could not be approached for a comment on the incident.
