World Water Day: Dig deep pits to harvest rainwater: Jal Shakti minister

Addressing a gathering during the drive, organised by Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply department, the minister said, “People should recharge ground water by using rainwater harvesting techniques.”

On the occasion, a water march was taken out at Kudiaghat in Lucknow. Besides, a water awareness chaupal (village gathering) was also organised at the Majithia gram panchayat in Barabanki.

Addressing the villagers in Barabanki, Singh said, “Villagers should dig deep pits to recharge ground water. An awareness campaign will soon be launched to inform people about the importance of water conservation and water harvesting.”
