Ashish Yerekar appointed as new chairman and managing director of Pune's PMPML, replacing Sanjay Kolte. Criticism over frequent transfers of CMDs.

Vivek Velankar, civic activist, criticised the state government’s decision and said, within a year, Yerekar is the third CMD of the PMPML. ‘Govt of India rights over cantonment lands to be retained’

Broad guidelines principles of excision of the civilian areas of the cantonment and their merger with adjoining municipalities, the proprietary rights over all the assets meant for providing civic amenities and municipal services in the excised area shall be transferred to the state government free of cost, states the order by DGDE deputy director

Gym trainer swept away in waterfall at Tamhini in Pune, body found after 48 hours

A video of the incident has now gone viral wherein Dhawade is seen jumping into the natural pool from a height and eventually being swept away by the current

On Saturday, June 29, Dhawade along with a group of 32 people had gone for a trek in the Plus Valley area of Tamhini Sanctuary. During the trek, the group arrived at a natural pool enroute to the Milky Bar waterfall where the incident occurred at around 12.30 pm the same day. (HT FILE)

Zika virus infects a 35-year-old pregnant woman in Pune, bringing total cases to six. Health officials monitor for potential complications in pregnant women.
