Two held for armed robbery attempt at jewellery shop in Baramati
Pune rural police have arrested two of the four accused in a jewellery shop robbery attempt at gunpoint case in Baramati. The accused have been identified as Pavan Jagdish Vishwakarma and Pradip Bhaiyalal Bisen. Two persons suffered injuries in the chase.

While one was apprehended on Friday evening after the incident was reported at Supe Market in Baramati around 6:45 pm on Friday, the other was held on Saturday.
The accused have been identified as Pavan Jagdish Vishwakarma (20) from Uttar Pradesh and Pradip Bhaiyalal Bisen (33) of Abhiyanta Nagar in Gondia district. Court remanded the duo in police custody till April 10.
According to the police, four persons visited Mahalaxmi Jewellers shop posing as customers and threatened the complainant Ashwini Jadhav and shop staffers at gunpoint before filling a bag with 20.5 tola jewellery (one tola is 11.66 gms) and snatched 1.5 tola gold ornaments from a person in the shop and escaped. The incident was recorded on CCTV cameras installed at the shop.
Later, Jadhav pressed the alarm button and alerted the police and villagers. Police along with villagers chased one of the accused Vishwakarma and recovered gold ornaments worth ₹11.39 lakh and seized a gun and 18 fire rounds. The other accused fled from the spot in a white car. Two persons suffered injury after an accused fired at the pursuers during the chase.
Pune rural police formed teams to nab the accused and enforced nakabandi check posts at areas across Pune, Solapur and Ahmednagar district. The accused’s car hit a nakabandi post at Pathardi tehsil in Ahmednagar on Saturday. After a long chase, police arrested one more accused Bisen and seized one pistol, six fire rounds, and a mobile phone from him.
Anand Bhoite, additional superintendent of police, Baramati, said, “Search is on to nab the remaining two robbers.”
