For lovers of car stunts world over, Briton Terry Grant is a legend. Just do a YouTube search and every video there will give you goosebumps. He has millions of fans and they include England Test skipper Alastair Cook, who first became his disciple and then a close friend. (Vizag Test Scorecard | Highlights)

Terry rates Alastair Cook very high for the perfection with which he performs tough car stunts, but certifies England’s left-handed opener as a very safe driver, pun unintended.
Here is Alastair Cook during a driving challenge.
“Some years ago, Cook came to me to learn stunt driving,’ Terry told HT. “He is very good and competitive, like the way he plays his cricket. Everything I told him, he learnt with perfection. If he ever offers you a lift in his car, get in. You will be safe”.
Holder of 20 Guinness World Records, Terry is in India to perform at the JK Tyre national racing championships on Sunday.

Terry’s brush with adventure on the road began very early. He was arrested for riding a motorbike as a five-year-old.
However, he has since driven to fame.
Cook’s reputation behind the wheel is entirely different from his image as a steady batsman. “Alastair can perform many stunts. He can do spin, reverse, J-turn, flick and skid the car in a small parking space. He was with me in the car once when we drove on two wheels. He climbed out of the window on the top and waved,” Terry said.
Terry, 46, and Cook have been friends for years thanks to their common pursuit to thrill.
“Alastair likes to do tough stuff that thrills him. When he drives the car or does a trick, it gives him excitement. He is good and I’d like to do more stunts with him. Who knows, one day we might both perform together,” adds Terry.
“He is very tall guy. Of course, he likes bigger cars, but he can also fit in the smaller cars that are popular in India.”
India’s bowlers won’t mind as long as Cook drives on the pitch and keeps making mistakes!
