Bhajji, Yuvraj slapped with tax notice

It was in October that the department had started its investigation against Harbhajan and Yuvraj Singh. "We have served a notice of Rs 1.15 crore to Bhajji," said S Saran, additional commissioner of Central Excise and Taxation.
"We have taxed them under the category of business support services of service tax," he said. Harbhajan is liable to pay service tax on his income for rendering services for promoting his IPL franchise, the Mumbai Indians.
"The service tax is for the first two editions of the IPL. Tax for the subsequent editions would be charged later," the official said. Yuvraj has been served a notice of Rs 1.5 crore.
Afridi likely to get reprieve
Lahore: Pakistan's one-day skipper Shahid Afridi has submitted his reply to the show-cause notice issued to him by the Pakistan Cricket Board for statements in the media about his differences with the team management.
Sources said that Afridi is likely to get reprieve because the special committee formed by the PCB to give suggestions for the betterment of cricket, had a soft corner for him.
