“India finally committing to playing One day cricket the aggressive way makes them Red hot favourites to win the men’s World Cup this year .. #INDvNZ,” Vaughan said in his tweet. Soon after Vaughan shared his tweet, New Zealand made a remarkable comeback in the high-scoring contest. "You posted this tweet and India lost 4 wickets," a fan called out Vaughan on Twitter as his post became the talk of the town on social media.

Talking about the 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand, veteran opener Rohit smashed 101 off 85 balls while Gill scored 112 off 78 balls as the star batters recorded the highest opening partnership against the Black Caps in the 50-over format. After Rohit and Gill propelled India to 212 in 26 overs, Virat Kohli (36), Ishan Kishan (17) and Suryakumar Yadav (14) failed to cash in on their starts as India were reduced to 293-5 in 38.4 overs.

Playing a crucial cameo for the hosts, all-rounder Hardik Pandya scored a sublime half-century to help India post a massive total. Pandya's entertaining knock of 54 off 38 balls guided India to 385-9 in 50 overs. After providing the final flourish with the bat, Pandya also bagged the crucial wicket of New Zealand opener Finn Allen in the 1st over.
