Sachin Tendulkar said this to kids at Virender Sehwag’s cricket academy
Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag formed one of India’s most formidable opening pairs, especially in limited overs cricket with 4387 runs in 114 innings.
Virender Sehwag thanked his former batting mate and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Monday for visiting the Sehwag International School and instilling confidence in his students with his chat in a lively Q&A session with the youngsters.
When one child queried how one should handle failures in life, Tendulkar, in a joyous mood, was clear in his reply.
“First of all you should not be thinking about failures,” said Tendulkar in the video uploaded online by Sehwag’s team on his Facebook account which went viral with over seven lakh views and counting. “You should be thinking about what you want to achieve in life.”
A sudden burst of fire crackers nearby did not faze the batting genius, who went on to reveal his own tryst with failures. “(At one stage) when I was not scoring enough runs, I spoke to my brother,” he said: ‘It is all in the mind’.”
Ending his half-an-hour session with the vibrant crowd of youngsters, Tendulkar spoke of the advice he gives to his own son and daughter:
“I tell them you have two choices when you wake up in the morning: either thank God for what you have in life or complain about what you don’t have.”
