Honeypreet Insan, adopted daughter of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, went missing soon after violence broke out in Haryana after Rahim’s conviction in two rape cases. She is one of the 43 people wanted by Panchkula Police
Fuelling reports that Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s adopted daughter, Honeypreet Insan, may be hiding in Delhi, the police on Tuesday raided a house in Greater Kailash Enclave were unable to find her there.
Delhi Police and the Panchkula Police jointly raided the residence in Greater Kailash Enclave, allegedly owned by the Dera. “The Panchkula Police had come with an arrest warrant for her. It was suspected that she was hiding in house number A9 in Greater Kailash Enclave. The house wad raided, but she was not found there,” said Romil Baaniya, DCP (south-east).
Delhi Police sources said they are also looking out for her in other neighbourhoods in south Delhi, particularly in Lajpat Nagar, based on the inputs from Panchkula police. Insan’s lawyer told ANI that Insan had visited him at his Lajpat Nagar offices.
Honeypreet Insan, originally Priyanka Taneja, was a close ally of the self-styled godman, and was even spotted with him at the CBI court during his trial and also accompanied him in the special chopper that took Singh from Rohtak to Panchkula. She went missing soon after. Soon, reports followed that may have fled to Nepal.
The Haryana Police had named her as one of the 43 persons “wanted” for the violent outbreaks in the state following Ram Rahim’s conviction in August this year. She has, however, been on the run since her adoptive father was jailed.
