Police claimed to have traced both Shivroop, the man accused of sending forged emails to slain airhostess Geetika Sharma at Kanda’s request, as well as Ankita Singh, one of Kanda’s employees who has emerged as a crucial link to deciphering his relationship with the 23-year-old.
“Shivroop, one of Kanda’s employees, had sent forged letters intended to defame Geetika to Emirates Airlines at Kanda’s behest. He has consented to join investigations and is being questioned,” said a senior police officer, investigating the case.
Even Ankita Singh, against whom Geetika had got a criminal case of intimidation filed while managing Kanda’s Mint Casino Company in Goa, police said, had been traced to Singapore and efforts to get her deported to join investigations were under way.
Meanwhile, even as police refused to shed light on how and when Geetika’s Facebook profile was deactivated, one of Kanda’s nephews, Varun Agarwal, expressed his support for his arrested uncle on the same social networking website.
Kanda’s friend, Nishant Jindal’s comment on one of the arrested minister’s three publicly-viewable profile pictures stated that he believed in him and was praying for him.
Apart from expressing their disgust for the role played by the media in the sordid saga, other ‘friends’ from his
constituency of Sirsa declared they still supported him and were waiting for the ‘storm to blow over’.
