The preparations to mark 60 years of Parliament are undergoing changes just two days before the main event. The reason: names of living members of the first Lok Sabha are still coming in.

Earlier this week, the Lok Sabha secretariat announced its decision to felicitate two living members of the first Lok Sabha - Rishang Keishing (Outer Manipur) and Resham Lal Jangade (Bilaspur) - at Sunday's commemorative event.
But on Wednesday, a third name popped up: Kandala Subrahmanyam, the Lok Sabha MP of 1952 from Vizianagaram of Andhra Pradesh.
Even as preparations were on to bring the 92-year old MP from Andhra to Delhi along with his close relatives, the latest revelation came on Friday. RJD MP Jagdanand Singh informed about Kamal Singh-Lok Sabha member of Bihar's Shahabad-North-West-who is spending his retired life in Dumrao.
"A friend informed that a Parliament press release mentions the name of just two living members of 1952 Lok Sabha. I immediately dashed an email to Lok Sabha's secretary-general pointing out that my father was a member of the first Lok Sabha. Within an hour, I got a call from him to attend the event," Subrahmanyam's son Ashok told HT.
According to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar's office, all possible help, including air tickets and accommodation are being arranged by Parliament secretariat. The Speaker's office has also decided to run a scroll in Lok Sabha TV asking viewers to inform about any surviving member.
"We are delighted to attend the event. Out of the four MPs of the first Lok Sabha, My father is the only one who was also in the constituent assembly during 1950-52," said Hem Chandra, son of Jangade.
