A big fan of legendary chess player Vishwanathan Anand, rising chess star Tanya Sachedva says she’s a typical ‘Delhi girl’. The 26-year-old talks about things that she likes about the Capital city.

Being a Delhi girl, how do you think it is different from other cities? No matter where you are from, which religion you practice and what kind of clothes you wear — Delhi welcomes everyone with open arms. Secondly, people here are so warm and loving. It’s easy to make friends with Dilliwallas. Within a few minutes of conversation with anyone here, you feel as if you’ve known each other for ages!

What do you do when you are home and not thinking about chess?
I really keep moving around a lot, so I don’t really have time to spend in Delhi. Having said that, whenever I get a chance, I like to spend time with my family, hangout with friends, go out, eat and dance.

Where do you usually go for dancing in Delhi?
Anidra, in Lodhi Garden. I know Delhi doesn’t have much places where you can let your hair down — but I really like Anidra — it’s got a good crowd and I really like it when I am there.

Which is your favorite hangout in Delhi?
I don’t have one favorite place as such. I love moving around in the city. People are so friendly here. I like hanging out in Lodhi Colony a lot. I love going to the French restaurant Chez Nini in Mehar Chand Market and also visit the malls when nothing specific is on my mind. As I said, I love roaming around in the city!

And finally, what do you think about Delhi guys?
Well, I think they are all good! But I don’t mean to distinguish anyone from where they live or come from. They are all equal in my eyes and all of them are charming in their own way. So yes, Delhi boys are all very nice!
