Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka, sector 10, organised its annual nursery function on Saturday amidst great pomp.

HK Kaura, a retired officer from Indian Railways, was the chief guest at the function. Kulbir Singh, a social worker, graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
The function kicked off with a lamp-lighting ceremony. Tiny tots clad in colourful attire presented an array of activities on the occasion.
They showcased the diverse culture of India by presenting folk dances. Pre-primary and Class 1 students enthralled the audience with a dance performance that celebrated Durga puja.
A Class 1 student who played goddess Durga said, “I have been practising for a week, and performing in front of such a huge crowd has raised my confidence.”
Keerat Makkar, another performer said, “We have been rehearsing very hard for this day. I am very thankful to my teacher for giving me this opportunity. I enjoy dancing and I will pursue this as a career when I grow up.”
A dance depicting Eid festival also mesmerised the audience. The dance brought the festival alive, which is celebrated by Muslims every year. Kaura concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.
