CBSE Board Exam 2023 LIVE: Class 12 English paper concludes, exam analysis here

According to the students, it was a well-balanced question paper but quite lengthy. The questions were direct and the students found them pretty easy as they were prepared for tougher ones. The comprehensions too were fairly simple with easy vocab questions. The long answer questions this year were quite interesting and open-ended.They were amalgamations of two lessons with common ideas. The reference to context questions were also fairly simple.

Dr. Mala Kapoor, Principal, Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad said, “Students were excited at the exam centre with happy and satisfied faces. We got many positive feedbacks. Students mentioned the paper was overall balanced and centres to their expected standard. The literature questions were direct while calling for a thorough understanding of the texts. The reading comprehension and the writing tasks were as per what they had been taught. Students were also glad that the school took the initiative for conducting the online remedial classes before their board exam which helped them a lot in preparing well and solving their doubts.”

Sreemoyee Banerjee, HOD English, Shiv Nadar School Gurugram said, “The paper is direct and reasonably easy. A thorough textual knowledge would be sufficient to tackle the questions on literature. In fact, some of the MCQs, such as the one on my mother at sixty-six, had rather obvious distractors making the question extremely easy. The MCQ on The Third Level, q8, number 3, had some ambiguity in the phrasing. However, overall the paper caters to students of diverse skills sets and abilities. There was an overuse of analogy-based questions and very few assertion reasoning-based questions.”

It was a delight to see the students of GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow come out happy after writing their English paper. Most of them found it easy as a lot of rigorous practice was done at school. Tulip said that she was able to timely complete the paper and had enough time for revision. Anushka Singh was of the opinion that the literature section was the easiest.

The questions were framed in simple language and were easy to comprehend, few questions in the comprehension section were slightly complex.

Many students found the analytical paragraph a little bit of a challenge and time consuming. On the whole the paper was a little lengthy.

Overall it was an easy paper and all the Goenkans were relieved that they had done justice to the paper. They thanked the teachers for their hardwork in preparing them well.

The grade XII English Core exam seemed to be all that the students had prepared themselves for. The reading section demanded the unwavering focus of the students. The exam kept the students busy in penning down their perspectives as Literature was a bit more challenging than the writing section. All in all, the question paper was moderate. Since it was their first exam, it must have set the tone for their other exams.

The English Core paper is a balanced one.The SAQs are very general and direct, and LAQs are collaborative and based on reasoning. The inputs given with long writing skills were found helpful by all the students.

As far as the Literature sections of all three sets are concerned the students could attempt the questions with precision with thorough knowledge of the text but the answers were very elaborate so the students were writing till the very last moment. Literature questions were direct. CBSE has maintained the same level in all three sets and the students were elated after attempting the paper.

The question paper for CBSE AISSCE Examination proved to be lengthy.

The questions in the Reading Section were tricky. All the questions in the Writing section were simple and provided the students with enough hand-holding to help them attempt the questions with accuracy.

CBSE Exam 2023 for Class 10, 12 have started at 10.30 am. The examination for both the classes will get over at 1.30 pm. 

CBSE Class 10 Board examination will be conducted for Urdu Course, Bengali, Tamil, Telegu, Marathi, Gujarati, Manipuri and Urdu Course B papers. 

No candidate would be allowed to enter in the examination centre after 10 am.

Candidate should go in school uniform and with school identity card in addition to Admit Card issued by CBSE and permissible stationery items only.

Candidates must check the particulars mentioned in the admit card and sign at the appropriate place after verifying particulars including photo and its correctness.

Do not carry mobile with GPS or any electronics items and all barred items to the exam centre.

This year, a total of 38 lakh students is appearing for CBSE Board examination. Out of the total candidates, 21,86,940 candidates are appearing for Class 10 and 16,96,770 candidates are appearing for Class 12 board exams.

CBSE Class 12 English Paper 2023 will begin at 10.30 am. Students appearing for the exam will have to reach the exam centre by 10 am. 15 minutes reading time will be given to candidates to read the question papers.

CBSE Class 12 sample paper is available on the official website of CBSE at cbse.gov.in. The Board 2 days ago have released a notice mentioning the fake sample papers being circulated to students appearing for the exam by paying a fees.
