Most students would have been able to attempt the long-answer questions. The writing section included general topics. So, students got an opportunity to express themselves. This year, deductive reasoning, critical thinking and analysis were expected from the students. The questions could be attempted within the stipulated time”

CBSE Board Exam 2023: Class 10th English Analysis
"The English language and Literature Exam for Grade 10 CBSE Board conducted today was easy and balanced. The questions based on language competency touched upon core skills like decoding, analysing, inferring, interpreting, critical-thinking and reasoning. The paper turned out to be a simpler version of the sample paper issued by CBSE.
The reading comprehension passages assessing comprehension, interpretation, inference, and vocabulary were straight forward except for questions in passage 2 which in fact belonged to passage 1. There was a balance of multiple choice and subjective questions. The writing section questions had ample of cues and were quiet generic. However, the literature tested critical and analytical thinking of the students. It was a smooth blend of moderate to high-order thinking questions. The subjective questions were straightforward. Overall, the English paper can be rated as a competency-based paper of easy to moderate level. It was a scoring paper."
Ms. Richa Sharma, PGT English, VidyaGyan School, Bulandshahr.

CBSE board exam 2023: Analysis by teacher
The Grade X English board exam has left students with a big smile. The unseen passages in Section A were easier than the pre-boards and the students were able to answer them with ease. All questions in the reading section were a good mix of textual knowledge and out-of-the-box thinking. The practice of the sample paper proved to be instrumental. The questions in the literature section were interesting and direct and students were able to answer them well due to their detailed knowledge of the text. But some of the answers were very elaborate and therefore time-consuming. Competency-based questions were also asked. It is commendable that the exam pattern encouraged value-based learning while discouraging the rote learning method.
The question paper was moderate, balanced, and effectively tested the students’ comprehension, writing, and analytical skills.

CBSE Board exam: Class 10th CBSE Board Exam Analysis
Grade X English Language and Literature question paper was counter balanced which could be well attempted by the students contrary to the rumour that paper would be a hard nut to crack this time. Reading Passages were easily comprehensible however coupled with gnarly questions. In addition to this, Analytical paragraph writing also baffled the students. According to the students, the Literature section was effortless as comparative to reading passages. On the whole, the exam fetched ambivalent reactions from students and the teachers alike. I reckon such an ambiguous commencement of the exams must have motivated the students to work harder for their other exams.

CBSE Cass 10th English Exam: Paper analysis
Class X English (Language and Literature) paper for 2022-23 was easy and based on the guidelines and directives provided by CBSE. It contained direct questions rather than based on an extrapolatory perspective. It was a well-designed and balanced paper. The pattern of the question paper was the same as the sample paper released by the Board. The passages in the READING section are of the familiar topic with the moderate type of questions. The WRITING section also had familiar topics and issues, giving learners enough scope to express themselves spontaneously. As for GRAMMAR, it was designed to test basic grammatical knowledge in a simplified manner. In the LITERATURE section, questions were simple yet tested the in-depth reading of the chapters. The Questions were based on analysis, reasoning and critical thinking. The paper was aptly designed for all kinds of learners. The ‘WELL-DRAFTED’ paper could be attempted within the stipulated time with sufficient time for revision.
