PSEB declares Class 12 results with the pass percentage of 96.48 %

Punjab School Education Board released the Class 12th results for the academic year 2021–2022, with a pass percentage of 96.96 percent.

The Punjab School Education Board on Tuesday declared results of Class 12th for the session 2021-22 with a pass percentage of 96.96%. The results will be uploaded for the students on the PSEB’s official website www.pseb.ac.in and on www.indiaresults.com on Wednesday after 10 am.

This year, the exams were held in offline mode after two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.

In this session, a total of 301700 students appeared for the exams, of which 292530 passed.

Keeping with the trend, this year too girls outshone the boys with an average pass percentage of 97.78%, while boys scored 96.27%. The pass percentage of transgender was 90% as nine out of the ten students passed the exams.

Among the government aided, affiliated and associated schools of PSEB, maximum pass percentage was recorded by government schools at 97.43%, followed by 96.86 percent by government aided schools, 96.23 percent by affiliated schools and 93.30% by associated schools.

In commerce stream the pass percentage is 97.95, in Humanities, the pass percentage is 96.68 %, in science, it is 97.83% and in vocational it is 96.44%.

Addressing the media persons, Chairman of the Board, Yograj Sharma said, “This year, exams were held in offline mode. In 2020 and 2021, the board had not conducted the exams and had followed CBSE pattern for results. In 2021, 96.48% students were declared pass by PSEB, who were evaluated based on their performance in internal assessment tests.”

“This time, no grace marks were given and students performed really well. Pass percentage of both urban schools and rural schools more or less remained the same as pass percentage of urban schools is 97%, while rural schools is 96.9%”, he added.

In class 12th, Pathankot district topped the state by securing 98.49% followed by Rupnagar with 98.48 % and SBS Nagar district bagged the third position with 98.24%. Gurdaspur district remained on the bottom of the list with 94.21%.

Topper:

This year, the first three positions were bagged by girls, who scored equal marks in Humanities steam at 99.40% (497/500), but were positioned on the basis of their age. The youngest among the three was declared first.

The first position in the state was bagged by Arshdeep Kaur, daughter of Gurmeet Singh and students of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana.

The second position was bagged by Arshpreet Kaur, daughter of Jagjit SIngh, from Government Senior Secondary School, Bachhoana, Mansa.

Kulwinder Kaur, daughter of Balvir Singh, from Government Senior Secondary School, Jaitu, Faridkot.

Rohit Kumar, son of Sham Lal, bagged first position in Science stream. Student of Government Senior Secondary School, Kamahi Devi (Hoshiarpur), he scored 496 out of 500 marks.

The topper of Commerce stream is Ankita, daughter of Rampal, student of GTB Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Malout, (Shri Muktsar Sahib) who also got 496/500 marks.
