What is Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)?

A certain weightage (credit) is assigned to each subject. Each student gets subject-wise GPA out of the assigned credit. This GPA is then multiplied by the total credit for that subject. The figure is calculated for each subject, and a total is obtained. This total is then divided by the cumulative number of credits (total weightage) for all subjects. This division gives the CGPA.
