JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: According to student feedback, the difficulty level across sections can be ranked as:
Mathematics > Physics > Chemistry
Despite the challenges in Mathematics, the paper was balanced and could be completed within the stipulated time with proper preparation- says Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: Paper analysis for Mathematics
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: The Mathematics section ranged from moderate to difficult. Though the questions were not overly challenging, some questions involved lengthy calculations. Key topics included Probability, Matrices, Algebra, Calculus, Vectors, Coordinate Geometry, 3D, and Calculus being dominant. The paper was comprehensive, covering almost all important chapters. For many students, Mathematics appeared time-consuming, but balanced in coverage- says Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited.
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: Paper analysis for Chemistry
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: The paper covered all chapters uniformly. While most questions were manageable, a few theory-based questions were confusing. Topics like Electrochemistry, Kinetics, p-block, d-block, Thermodynamics, and Biomolecules featured prominently. Overall, the section offered balanced representation- says Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited.
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: Paper analysis for Physics
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: Many students found the Physics section easy. Topics such as Mechanics, Current Electricity, Optics, Modern Physics, and Waves were well-represented. However, questions from AC, EMI, and Magnetism were notably absent. The inclusion of some PYQs (previous year questions) provided familiarity for prepared students- says Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited.
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: Analysis of Morning Shift JEE Main paper
JEE Main 2025 Live Updates: The JEE Main paper on 22nd January 22, was of Easy to Moderate difficulty overall. Chemistry and Physics sections were relatively easy, while the Mathematics section was slightly lengthy and calculative- says Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited.
JEE Main 2025 Student's Reaction: Vector, statistics and progability had high share of questions in Mathemetics, says candidate
Sanjali Verma, a candidate from Sitapur who appeared for the examination in Lucknow said that entire paper was a bit difficult but she is satisfied with her first attempt. "Most of the physics was covered from class 12 NCERT syllabus while more questions were framed out of organic chemistry. In mathematics vector, statistics and probability had a great share in the question paper," said Verma.
JEE Main 2025 Student's Reaction: Candidate says Chemistry NCERT based, easier than other sections
For Shailesh Pandey, a candidate from Bakshi ka Talab who appeared for the examination in Lucknow the portion of chemistry was based out of NCERT syllabus which turned out to be easier than the other two subjects. "Physics was moderate but Mathematics was difficult to solve. It took us quite some time to enter the examination centre which could have been solved if there were more centers for examination," said Pandey who appeared for his second attempt.
JEE Main 2025 Student's Reaction: Candidate says Mathematics was tricky
Kalpana Mukherjee, a candidate from Gazipur who appeared for the examination in Lucknow said that she was not satisfied with her performance. "According to me the portion of physics and chemistry were easy to moderate while the Mathematics was a bit tricky. The examination center was also far away from the city center which added to my anxiety," said Mukherjee.
JEE Main 2025 Live: Shift 2 begins
The second shift of the JEE Main day 1 exam started at 3 pm and will end at 6 pm.
JEE Main paper analysis Live: Exam ‘easy to moderate’
The paper was easy to moderate. Chemistry was well-balanced, with physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry topics being almost equally represented. A significant portion of the chemistry was aligned with NCERT, and questions did not come from the deleted topics in the NCERT syllabus. However, in physics, there was a question on the potentiometer, which is from a deleted topic but was still covered in the paper. There was also a mixed question involving unit dimensions and magnetism, indicating that physics questions had some concept mixing. But if you have covered the basic concepts and formulas, you could easily score around 60% in this paper.
In mathematics, there were 3-4 questions from vectors and 3D geometry, along with 6-7 questions from calculus. The maths section was more lengthy than difficult. Overall, the paper was similar to the ones from previous years.
