In Chhattisgarh it will be a neck-and-neck contest but the Congress party is likely to edge out BJP, exit polls predicted. According to the India Today-Axis My India poll, the Congress is likely to win between 40 and 50 seats, whereas the BJP is likely to win between 36 and 46 seats.
For Telangana, as per the India TV- CNX exit poll, the BRS is likely to retain a majority in the state with 70 seats. The Congress is likely to win 34 seats and the BJP 7.

An exit poll is a survey which helps to indicate which political parties could possibly win the elections. The exit polls are conducted immediately after people have voted.
When were elections held in these states?
The election dates for the five states were: Mizoram on November 7, Chhattisgarh on November 7 and November 17, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 25 and Telangana on November 30.
Why are these elections important?
These elections are crucial as they are being held just before the Lok Sabha polls which are scheduled for April-May next year.

In 2018, Congress won 68 seats in Chhattisgarh while BJP secured 15 seats. The CSDS – ABP News poll gave 52 seats to BJP and 35 seats to Congress. C Voter-Republic TV gave Congress 45 seats and 39 seats for BJP while News 24-Pace Media gave 39 seats to BJP and 48 to Congress.

Today's Chanakya predicted 36 seats for BJP and 50 for Congress.
