Curtorim is the assembly constituency which comes under the South Goa district. It is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Goa Assembly Election 2022 for Curtorim was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Goa Assembly Election 2017, there were 28,187 registered voters for Curtorim assembly seat, out of which 13,656 were male and 14,531 were female voters. 0.9% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Goa Legislative Assembly Election, there were 5 candidates in the fray from Curtorim constituency. Curtorim was one of 17 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a one way contest with Indian National Congress's Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco comfortably winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Arthur Dââ¬â¢silva by a huge margin of 7,697 votes.
98.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco grabbed a total of 12,841 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Arthur Dââ¬â¢silva got 5,144 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Edwin Domnic Vaz bagged 2,711 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 61.0%, 24.4% and 12.9% respectively.
In Goa Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco outperformed independent candidate Domnic Gaonkar by 4,069 votes.
