Goa Election: Priol Assembly Constituency 2022

Priol comes under the North Goa district and it is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Priol voted for Goa Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Priol assembly seat had 29,568 registered voters. Of the, 14,570 were male and 14,998 were female voters. 1.5% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 4 candidates were contesting for Priol assembly constituency seat. Priol was one of 3 seats won by the independent candidates. Independent candidate Govind Gaude won the election by defeating Maharashtrawadi Gomantak's Pandurang Alias Deepak Madhav Dhavalikar by a margin of 4,686 votes.

The top two candidates split 96.7% of votes between them. Independent candidate Govind Gaude got a total of 15,149 votes, while Maharashtrawadi Gomantak's Pandurang Alias Deepak Madhav Dhavalikar secured 10,463 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Dr. Dattaram B. Dessai secured 456 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 57.2%, 39.5% and 1.7% respectively.

In Goa Assembly election 2012, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak's Pandurang Alias Deepak Dhavalikar beat independent candidate Govind Gaude by 2,100 votes.
