Tivim is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the North Goa district. People of Tivim voted for Goa Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Tivim assembly seat had 26,575 registered voters. Of the, 13,107 were male and 13,468 were female voters. 0.7% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In 2017, 4 candidates were contesting for Tivim assembly constituency seat. Tivim was one of 17 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's Nilkanth Ramnath Halarnkar winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Kiran Mohan Kandolkar by a margin of just 795 votes.
The top two candidates split 95.6% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Nilkanth Ramnath Halarnkar got a total of 11,099 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Kiran Mohan Kandolkar secured 10,304 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Pradeep Amonkar Ghadi secured 703 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 49.6%, 46.0% and 3.1% respectively.
In Goa Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Kiran Mohan Kandolkar outperformed Nationalist Congress Party's Nilkanth Ramnath Halarnkar by 1,112 votes.
