Bharatiya Janata Party's Devabhai Punjabhai Malam won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Jayeshkumar Valjibhai Ladani by a margin of 10,806 votes.
96.2% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Devabhai Punjabhai Malam got a total of 71,425 votes, while Indian National Congress's Jayeshkumar Valjibhai Ladani got 60,619 votes. Nationalist Congress Party's candidate Khimanandbhai Govindbhai Jarer grabbed 1,155 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 52.0%, 44.2% and 0.8% respectively.
