Indian National Congress's Ahir Vikrambhai Arjanbhai Madam won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Kalubhai Naranbhai Chavda by a margin of 11,046 votes.
The top two candidates split 93.6% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Ahir Vikrambhai Arjanbhai Madam got a total of 79,779 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Kalubhai Naranbhai Chavda secured 68,733 votes. Independent candidate Nagash Karshanbhai Jeshabhai secured 2,513 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.3%, 43.3% and 1.6% respectively.
