Himachal Pradesh Election: Jaisinghpur Assembly Constituency 2022

Jaisinghpur is one of the 68 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kangra district. Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Jaisinghpur will be held on November 12 and the result was declared on December 8.

Jaisinghpur assembly constituency had 74,900 electors in 2017, out of which 36,510 were male voters and 38,390 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.

In the 2017 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 5 candidates in the fray from Jaisinghpur constituency. Jaisinghpur was one of 44 seats won by the Bharatiya Janta Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janta Party's Ravinder Kumar comfortably winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Yadvinder Goma by a huge margin of 10,710 votes.

The top two candidates split 96.2% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janta Party's Ravinder Kumar got a total of 29,357 votes, while Indian National Congress's Yadvinder Goma secured 18,647 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Kehar Singh secured 1,082 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 58.8%, 37.4% and 2.2% respectively.

In Himachal Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Yadvinder Goma defeated Bharatiya Janta Party's Atma Ram by 9,735 votes.
