Manipur Election: Henglep (ST) Assembly Constituency 2022
Henglep (ST) is the assembly constituency which comes under the Churuchandpur district. It is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Manipur Assembly Election 2022 for Henglep (ST) will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Henglep (ST) assembly seat had 29,449 registered voters. Of the, 14,589 were male and 14,860 were female voters. 0.2% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Henglep (ST) constituency had 6 candidates for assembly seat contention. Henglep (ST) was one of 21 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's T. Thangzalam Haokip winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's T. Manga Vaiphei by a margin of just 268 votes.
91.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's T. Thangzalam Haokip grabbed a total of 8,438 votes, while Indian National Congress's T. Manga Vaiphei got 8,170 votes. National People's Party's candidate Letzamang Haokip bagged 5,146 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 35.6%, 34.5% and 21.7% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's T.Manga Vaiphei outperformed All India Trinamool Congress's T.Thangzalam Haokip by 365 votes.
