Manipur Assembly Election results: BJP marches towards clean sweep, CM Singh bags Heingang

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is marching towards a clean sweep in Manipur with a lead in at least 22 seats. Chief minister N Biren Singh bagged his home turf Heingang. The senior BJP leader defeated his nearest rival, Congress’ P Sharatchandra, by a margin of nearly 18,000 votes.
