Manipur Election: Nungba (ST) Assembly Constituency 2022
Nungba (ST) is the assembly constituency which comes under the Tamenglong district. It is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Manipur Assembly Election 2022 for Nungba (ST) will be held on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
Nungba (ST) assembly constituency had 25,392 electors in 2017, out of which 12,475 were male voters and 12,917 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Nungba (ST) constituency had 4 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 28 seats were won by the Indian National Congress, Nungba (ST) was one of them. The election for Nungba (ST) seat was comfortably won by Indian National Congress's Gaikhangam defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Adim Pamei by a huge margin of 5,147 votes.
99.4% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Gaikhangam grabbed a total of 10,255 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Adim Pamei got 5,108 votes. Lok Jan Shakti Party's candidate Pou Mathiupuang Gonmei bagged 4,111 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 52.4%, 26.1% and 21.0% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Gaikhangam outperformed Manipur State Congress Party's Adim Pamei by 2,330 votes.
