Oinam is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bishnupur district. People of Oinam voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Manipur Assembly Election 2017, there were 26,415 registered voters for Oinam assembly seat, out of which 12,750 were male and 13,665 were female voters. 0.3% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Oinam constituency had 4 candidates for assembly seat contention. Oinam was one of 21 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Laishram Radhakishore Singh winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Dr. Irengbam Ibohalbi Singh by a margin of just 843 votes.
95.0% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Laishram Radhakishore Singh got a total of 12,029 votes, while Indian National Congress's Dr. Irengbam Ibohalbi Singh got 11,186 votes. Nationalist Congress Party's candidate Khundrakpam Romio grabbed 1,030 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 49.2%, 45.8% and 4.2% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, All India Trinamool Congress's Irengbam Ibohalbi Singh defeated Manipur State Congress Party's L. Radhakishore Singh by 956 votes.
