Manipur Election: Saikot (ST) Assembly Constituency 2022
Saikot (ST) is the assembly constituency which comes under the Churuchandpur district. It is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Manipur Assembly Election 2022 for Saikot (ST) will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Saikot (ST) assembly seat had 50,889 registered voters. Of the, 25,090 were male and 25,799 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, there were 3 candidates in the fray from Saikot (ST) constituency. Saikot (ST) was one of 28 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's T. N. Haokip won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Paokholal Haokip by a margin of 5,101 votes.
The top three candidates split 100.0% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's T. N. Haokip got a total of 16,354 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Paokholal Haokip secured 11,253 votes. Lok Jan Shakti Party's candidate Holkholun Lhungdim grabbed the third spot with 6,096 votes. The top three parties got 48.5%, 33.4% and 18.1% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's T.N.Haokip beat All India Trinamool Congress's Lunkholal by 8,157 votes.
