Manipur Election: Wabgai Assembly Constituency 2022
Wabgai comes under the Thoubal district and it is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Wabgai voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
Wabgai assembly constituency had 29,634 electors in 2017, out of which 14,136 were male voters and 15,498 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Wabgai constituency had 6 candidates for assembly seat contention. Wabgai was one of 28 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Md. Fajur Rahim won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Usham Deben Singh by a margin of 4,761 votes.
The top three candidates split 92.5% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Md. Fajur Rahim got a total of 12,474 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Usham Deben Singh secured 7,713 votes. North East India Development Party's candidate Mayengbam Ranjit Singh grabbed the third spot with 5,264 votes. The top three parties got 45.4%, 28.0% and 19.1% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Md. Fajur Rahim defeated All India Trinamool Congress's Dr. Usham Deben Singh by 3,348 votes.
