Manipur Election: Wangkhei Assembly Constituency 2022
Wangkhei comes under the Imphal district and it is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Wangkhei voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
Wangkhei assembly constituency had 34,914 electors in 2017, out of which 16,815 were male voters and 18,099 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.0% votes.
In the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Wangkhei constituency had 3 candidates for assembly seat contention. Wangkhei was one of 28 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Okram Henry Singh won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Yumkham Erabot Singh by a margin of 4,336 votes.
99.5% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Indian National Congress's Okram Henry Singh got a total of 16,753 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Yumkham Erabot Singh got 12,417 votes. All India Trinamool Congress's candidate Rajkumar Priyobarta Singh grabbed 149 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 57.1%, 42.4% and 0.5% respectively.
In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Yumkham Erabot Singh beat Manipur State Congress Party's Henry Okram by 1,576 votes.
