Manipur Election: Yaiskul Assembly Constituency 2022

Yaiskul comes under the Imphal district and it is one of the 60 Manipur Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Yaiskul voted for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

Yaiskul assembly constituency had 25,363 electors in 2017, out of which 11,703 were male voters and 13,660 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.1% votes.

What happened last time

In 2017, 5 candidates were contesting for Yaiskul assembly constituency seat. Yaiskul was one of 21 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Thokchom Satyabrata Singh winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Elangbam Chand Singh by a margin of just 570 votes.

97.5% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Thokchom Satyabrata Singh got a total of 8,014 votes, while Indian National Congress's Elangbam Chand Singh secured 7,444 votes. Independent candidate N. Helendro Singh grabbed the third spot with 5,621 votes. The top three parties got 37.1%, 34.4% and 26.0% respectively.

In Manipur Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Elangbam Chand Singh outperformed independent candidate Hanjabam Jayadeva Sharma by 325 votes.
