Punjab Election: Bhadaur Assembly Constituency 2022
Bhadaur comes under the Sangrur district and it is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Bhadaur voted for Punjab Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.
Bhadaur assembly constituency had 1,53,188 electors in 2017, out of which 82,025 were male voters and 71,163 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Punjab Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Bhadaur constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Bhadaur was one of 20 seats won by the Aam Aadmi Party. Aam Aadmi Party's Pirmal Singh Dhaula won the election by upstaging Shiromani Akali Dal's Sant Balvir Singh Ghunas by a margin of 20,784 votes.
94.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Aam Aadmi Party's Pirmal Singh Dhaula grabbed a total of 57,095 votes, while Shiromani Akali Dal's Sant Balvir Singh Ghunas got 36,311 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Joginder Singh bagged 26,615 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.1%, 28.7% and 21.0% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Mohammed Sadique outperformed Shiromani Akali Dal's Darbara Singh Guru by 6,969 votes.
