Bhoa is the assembly constituency which comes under the Gurdaspur district. It is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Punjab Assembly Election 2022 for Bhoa was held on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Punjab Assembly Election 2017, there were 1,74,313 registered voters for Bhoa assembly seat, out of which 92,327 were male and 81,986 were female voters. 0.3% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly Election, there were 16 candidates in the fray from Bhoa constituency. Bhoa was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a one way contest with Indian National Congress's Joginder Pal comfortably winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Seema Kumari by a huge margin of 27,496 votes.
The top three candidates split 93.1% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Joginder Pal got a total of 67,865 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Seema Kumari secured 40,369 votes. Revolutionary Marxist Party Of India's candidate Lal Chand Kataruchak grabbed the third spot with 13,353 votes. The top three parties got 51.9%, 30.9% and 10.2% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Seema Kumari beat Indian National Congress's Balbir Ram by 12,148 votes.
