Dharamkot is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Moga district. People of Dharamkot voted for Punjab Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Dharamkot assembly seat had 1,74,143 registered voters. Of the, 92,555 were male and 81,588 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Dharamkot constituency. Dharamkot was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Sukhjit Singh won the election upstaging Shiromani Akali Dal's Tota Singh by a margin of 22,218 votes.
97.1% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Sukhjit Singh grabbed a total of 63,238 votes, while Shiromani Akali Dal's Tota Singh got 41,020 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Daljit Singh bagged 34,615 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 44.2%, 28.7% and 24.2% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Shiromani Akali Dal's Tota Singh beat Indian National Congress's Sukhjit Singh by 4,255 votes.
