Punjab Election: Dina Nagar Assembly Constituency 2022

Dina Nagar is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Gurdaspur district. Punjab Assembly Election 2022 for Dina Nagar was held on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.

Dina Nagar assembly constituency had 1,81,773 electors in 2017, out of which 97,965 were male voters and 83,808 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.

What happened last time

In the Punjab Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Dina Nagar constituency had 9 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 77 seats were won by the Indian National Congress, Dina Nagar was one of them. The election for Dina Nagar seat was comfortably won by Indian National Congress's Aruna Chaudhary defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Bishan Dass by a huge margin of 31,917 votes.

The top two candidates split 87.0% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Aruna Chaudhary got a total of 72,176 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Bishan Dass secured 40,259 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Joginder Singh secured 10,258 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 55.8%, 31.1% and 7.9% respectively.

In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Aruna Chaudhary beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Bishan Dass by 12,927 votes.
