Punjab Election: Jagraon Assembly Constituency 2022

Jagraon is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Ludhiana district. Punjab Assembly Election 2022 for Jagraon was held on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Jagraon assembly seat had 1,75,750 registered voters. Of the, 94,157 were male and 81,593 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the Punjab Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Jagraon constituency had 9 candidates for assembly seat contention. Jagraon was one of 20 seats won by the Aam Aadmi Party. Aam Aadmi Party's Saravjit Kaur Manuke won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Malkit Singh Dakha by a margin of 25,576 votes.

97.1% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Aam Aadmi Party's Saravjit Kaur Manuke grabbed a total of 61,521 votes, while Indian National Congress's Malkit Singh Dakha got 35,945 votes. Shiromani Akali Dal's candidate Amarjit Kaur Sahoke bagged 33,295 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.7%, 26.7% and 24.7% respectively.

In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Shiromani Akali Dal's Srkaler beat Indian National Congress's Ishar Singh by 206 votes.
