Khem Karan is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Amritsar district. People of Khem Karan voted for Punjab Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.

Indian National Congress's Sukhpal Singh Bhullar won the election by upstaging Shiromani Akali Dal's Virsa Singh by a margin of 19,602 votes.
The top two candidates split 94.2% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Sukhpal Singh Bhullar got a total of 81,897 votes, while Shiromani Akali Dal's Virsa Singh secured 62,295 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Bikramajit Singh secured 6,568 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 53.5%, 40.7% and 4.3% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Shiromani Akali Dal's Virsa Singh defeated Indian National Congress's Gurchet Singh by 13,102 votes.
