Posting it on facebook, chairperson of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) Raman Balasubramaniam said he will resign on March 11 morning
Soon after the election results were announced on Thursday and cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu lost from Ludhiana West, chairperson of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) Raman Balasubramaniam announced to resign from the post.
Posting it on facebook, Balasubramaniam said he will resign on March 11 morning.
Balasubramaniam, a close aide of Ashu, was supposedly nominated by the Congress government as chairperson of LIT on the recommendations of Ashu in July 2019.
As per the sources, Balaubramaniam chose to step down as the new AAP government would have removed him from the post after the formation of government. The opposition has been taking a dig at the chairperson over alleged scams and anomalies in the LIT. He has been refuting the allegations as baseless.
Balasubramaniam said he has announced to resign from the post on moral grounds, as he was nominated by Congress government. He said the Congress has not been able to form the government in the state, so he will resign from the post on Friday morning.
Ashu has lost to AAP candidate Gurpreet Gogi by 7,512 votes.
