Patti is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Amritsar district. Punjab Assembly Election 2022 for Patti was held on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Patti assembly seat had 1,89,846 registered voters. Of the, 99,799 were male and 90,047 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Patti constituency. Patti was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Harminder Singh Gill won the election upstaging Shiromani Akali Dal's Adesh Partap Singh Kairon by a margin of 8,363 votes.
97.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Indian National Congress's Harminder Singh Gill grabbed a total of 64,617 votes, while Shiromani Akali Dal's Adesh Partap Singh Kairon got 56,254 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Ranjit Singh Cheema bagged 18,489 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.3%, 39.4% and 13.0% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Shiromani Akali Dal's Adesh Partap Singh Kairon outperformed Indian National Congress's Harminder Singh Gill by 59 votes.
