Punjab Election: Shutrana Assembly Constituency 2022
Shutrana is the assembly constituency which comes under the Patiala district. It is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Punjab Assembly Election 2022 for Shutrana was held on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Punjab Assembly Election 2017, there were 1,65,965 registered voters for Shutrana assembly seat, out of which 88,186 were male and 77,779 were female voters. 0.5% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 13 candidates were contesting for Shutrana assembly constituency seat. Shutrana was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Nirmal Singh won the election by defeating Shiromani Akali Dal's Vaninder Kaur Loomba by a margin of 19,083 votes.
The top three candidates split 94.4% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Nirmal Singh got a total of 58,571 votes, while Shiromani Akali Dal's Vaninder Kaur Loomba secured 39,488 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Palwinder Kaur grabbed the third spot with 32,037 votes. The top three parties got 42.5%, 28.7% and 23.3% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Shiromani Akali Dal's Vaninder Kaur Loomba defeated Indian National Congress's Nirmal Singh by 62 votes.
