Sultanpur Lodhi comes under the Kapurthala district and it is one of the 117 Punjab Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Sultanpur Lodhi voted for Punjab Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.

Indian National Congress's Navtej Singh Cheema got a total of 41,843 votes, while Shiromani Akali Dal's Upinderjit Kaur secured 33,681 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Sajjan Singh Cheema grabbed the third spot with 28,017 votes. The top three parties got 38.8%, 31.2% and 26.0% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Navtej Singh defeated Shiromani Akali Dal's Upinderjit Kaur by 4,298 votes.
