Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Sajjan Singh Cheema grabbed the third spot with 28,017 votes. The top three parties got 38.8%, 31.2% and 26.0% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Navtej Singh defeated Shiromani Akali Dal's Upinderjit Kaur by 4,298 votes.
