Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Girraj Singh Dharmesh won the election by upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Gutiyari Lal Duwesh by a margin of 46,325 votes.
97.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Girraj Singh Dharmesh grabbed a total of 1,13,178 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Gutiyari Lal Duwesh got 66,853 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Mamta Kaudan bagged 64,683 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.0%, 26.6% and 25.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Gutiyari Lal Duwesh defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Girraj Singh Dharmesh (G.S. Dharmesh) by 6,415 votes.
