Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Agra South was one of them. The election for Agra South seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Yogendra Upadhyaya defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Zulfiqar Ahmad Bhutto by a huge margin of 54,225 votes.
The top three candidates split 96.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Yogendra Upadhyaya got a total of 1,11,882 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Zulfiqar Ahmad Bhutto secured 57,657 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Nazir Ahmed grabbed the third spot with 39,434 votes. The top three parties got 51.7%, 26.6% and 18.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Yogendra Upadhyaya defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Zulfiquar Ahmed Bhutto by 22,960 votes.
