Akbarpur - Raniya comes under the Kanpur Dehat district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Akbarpur - Raniya voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.
Akbarpur - Raniya assembly constituency had 3,08,102 electors in 2017, out of which 1,65,250 were male voters and 1,42,852 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Akbarpur - Raniya constituency had 14 candidates for assembly seat contention. Akbarpur - Raniya was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pratibha Shukla won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Neeraj Singh by a margin of 28,729 votes.
94.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pratibha Shukla grabbed a total of 87,430 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Neeraj Singh got 58,701 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Dr. Satish Shukla bagged 45,761 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.3%, 29.0% and 22.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ramswaroop Singh beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Pratibha Shukla by 1,243 votes.
